Twin industrial parks strengthen int’l production cooperation

The new year welcomed the start of the construction of the Malay Avenue, valued at 1 billion yuan, as well as a great number of industrial projects in the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, Xinhua reported.

Gao Pu, executive deputy director of China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park’s administrative commission said that the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park and Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial park will create a new cooperation model of 'Two Countries, Twin Parks' for international industrial parks and build a green channel for international production cooperation. Gao stated that last year 66 projects have entered or will enter the park and the total investment of signed projects exceeds 29.5 billion yuan. Through the 'Two Countries, Twin parks' model, the cooperation among Qinzhou Industrial Park and Malaysia Innovation Center, the East Coast SAR, Tunku Abdul Rahman University, Regal International Group and MMC were strengthened.

The cooperation model also promoted construction of a number of projects, including a bird's nest processing base, a halal processing base, Chinese Herbal Medicine and Halal Food Research Institute and a palm oil storage and deep processing base.

He said a high-level platform demonstrating open cooperation will be built to help merchants from China and ASEAN countries to learn more about investment policies in relevant countries. And the two governments will take 'Two Countries, Twin Parks' as an approach to conduct international production cooperation, carry forward the construction of cross-border industry and service chains and promote the layout of strategic emerging industries in the two parks.

Gao noted the sister parks will further give play its advantages in attracting investment, carry forward production cooperation in such sectors as Traditional Chinese Medicine, palm tree oil production, rubber products manufacturing, shipping and logistics and equipment manufacturing.

The industrial parks will also provide convenience for all investors and attract foreign businesses to set up venture capital funds and industrial investment funds.
