China rejected yesterday the accusations of the United States on the search of world hegemony with its project of BRI emphasizing that the main objective is to promote common development.

Hua Chunying, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reiterated in a press conference the purposes of promoting the cooperation of shared profit, progress and prosperity of the entire planet in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative.

'The Belt and Road Initiative has nothing to do with geopolitics nor is it a strategic tool of competition. China intends to promote the joint construction of an initiative that stimulates the world economy through equitable and mutually beneficial cooperation for all,' She said.

The diplomatic official also referred to the goal of achieving balanced growth, increasing support and tangible results of the project in the international community, especially in poor nations.

She asserted that Beijing's policy is to establish ties based on the principles of friendship, sincerity, inclusion and non-interference in the internal affairs of its members.

Finally, she urged the United States to take substantial steps in support of developing countries instead of continuing to issue irresponsible and cynical statements about China.

Hua responded in this way to the criticism of the North American advisor of National Security, John Bolton, against the Belt and Road Initiative, which considers a weapon of the Asian giant to dominate the orb.

The initiative is inspired by old commercial routes and seeks to connect China and land to other continents through land and sea through a large network of infrastructures, movements of goods, people and capital.
