Founded in April 1928 by Chinese banker Chen Guangpu, The China National Travel Service (HK) Group Corporation is China’s largest travel group,state-owned enterprise under the direction of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. With efforts by generation after generation, it now engages in tourism, industrial investment (iron and steel), real estate development and logistics trade, providing a comprehensive qualified service marking its predominance within the industry. Its leading position was strengthened with the merging of China Merchants International Travel Co. and China Travel Company in 2005 and 2007 respectively. In the financial year of 2009/ 2010, the group has a total value of assets of ¥55.3 billion, revenue of ¥50 billion and approximate 45,000 employees worldwide.

Travel business is the core business of the group. As the leading travel service company in China, HKCTS has 8 regional companies, over 150 subsidiaries and 500 branches in major China cities——among which, 43 branches and offices in Hong Kong &Macao——as well as 21 overseas branches in 16 countries. In March 2005, www.mangocity.com was founded with headquarter in Shenzhen to provide online travel service.

HKCTS Metropark Hotels Management Co. Ltd. operates over 63 hotels with its own brands as Metropark and Travelers Inn, situated in major cities and attractive holiday regions within Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao. Listed as No.43 among the World Top 300 Hotels and the national largest hotel group, the hotels offer guests a diverse range of hotel concepts with the highest levels of service and quality, and with exceptional environmental standards.

HKCTS invests and operates in various tourist attractions, theme parks and resorts including: the Window of the World, the Splendid China and the Chinese Folk Culture Villages as three traditional large cultural replicas in Shenzhen; Ocean Spring Resorts in zhuhai, Qingdao, Xianyang, Chibi and Chengdu as spring resorts series; Mt. Songshan,Jigong, Pingding as Mountain travel spots.

HKCTS also provides other tourism services such as transportation and performance arts. China Travel Tours Transportation Services HK Ltd is one of the largest cross-border bus companies in Hong Kong. China Heaven Creation International Performing Arts Co., Ltd develops series of entertainment representing high standards of tourism performance. It is a pioneer leading Chinese culture industry to go abroad since it brought The White House Theatre in Branson, U.S and made “the legend of Kungfu” a long-term stationed show there. HKCTS is also the unique assigned institution to provide ‘Home Return Permit’ and ‘the Taiwan Compatriot Pass’ service in Hong Kong.

The Tangshan Guofeng Iron and Steel Co. Ltd., in which HKCTS is a major share holder, produces 8.5million tons of iron, steel and rolled steel products annually, and is the largest producer of hot-strip in China. The plant produces comprehensive products with high standards for technology and energy efficiency, ranking high among the national iron and steel industry.

The real estate business of HKCTS is positioned as development operator for tourist destination, holiday resort, urban resident property and commercial property, which distributed in central cities and economy developed areas in China, such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Shenyang, Qingdao, etc., The company has developed famous resident buildings such as Shenzhen CTS International Residence, Shenyang CTS International Town, Qingdao Ocean Resort CTS Residence etc., as well as top grade office buildings such as Shenzhen CTS tower and Mangocity Tower successively.
