Guizhou: 9,551 big data enterprises, over 10,000 clouded enterprises

In recent years, Guiyang has sped up economic development and kept growing in comprehensive strength. In 2017, Guiyang achieved a GDP of 353.796 billion yuan, over 300 times that registered in 1978. In 2018, Guiyang was the fastest-growing provincial capital in China for the sixth consecutive year and was named the "Influential Chinese City of the Year 2018". There are currently 9,551 big data enterprises and over 10,000 clouded enterprises in Guizhou, which have injected digital power for the high-quality development of Guizhou.

With focus on the development of the digital industry, Guiyang has initiated the construction of ten industrial parks such as Big Data Healthcare Industrial Park, covering business fields such as big data security, digital logistics, washing and processing, and Internet healthcare. Guided by big data, Guiyang has explored and boosted innovation in e-government service, livelihood service, social governance and rural rejuvenation, to accomplish the sharing and exchange of all government data. Data show that Guiyang's big data enterprises achieved total primary business revenues of 100 billion yuan in 2018, up 22.4 percent.

Alongside high-quality economic development, Guiyang has kept increasing the degree of opening-up. By integrating itself into “Belt and Road” construction, the development of the Yangtze Economic Belt, the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the construction of the new western land-sea channel, Guiyang has built characteristic industries represented by green agriculture, traditional industries supported by superior resources and modern service industries dominated by tourism. An open attitude and improved business environment have earned Guiyang attention and recognition from the international community, and laid a solid foundation for Guiyang to rank among Best-Performing Cities China for four consecutive years.

In recent years, Guizhou has taken big data as a strategic choice to catch up, gone all out to advance the big data strategic action and sped up the building of China's first big data comprehensive pilot zone. Big data has become a bright symbol of Guizhou to the world.

Guizhou's national big data elements have kept increasing. It has built "South Node" of National E-Government Cloud Data Center, been approved to build a national pilot province for the opening of information resources, a national pilot province for Internet + e-government service, and a national pilot province for regional healthcare center building and connectivity, and become one of China's first 5G pilot cities.

Substantial progress was achieved in the integrated development of big data. Guizhou has stuck to "four enhancements" and "four integrations", focused on integrating big data development with the real economy, and comprehensively implemented the "10,000-enterprise integration" and "100-enterprise guidance" action. 1,625 entity enterprises in Guizhou have developed in integration with big data. Guizhou has ranked first in China for four consecutive years in terms of digital economy growth. The added value of Guizhou's digital economy accounts for 26.9 percent of its GDP.  "One cloud, one net and one platform" have been built up in Guizhou.

A growing number of big data enterprises are emerging in Guizhou. Projects of world-renowned big data enterprises like Apple, Huawei and Tencent have been commenced, completed and put into operation in Guizhou. Local big data enterprises like Guizhou-Cloud Big Data, Huochebang, Baishan Cloud, Esgyn and Longmaster have kept growing. There are currently 9,551 big data enterprises and over 10,000 clouded enterprises in Province, which have injected digital power for the high-quality development of Guizhou.
