At the Release Conference of Guiyang Blockchain Technology and Application Laboratory Sovereign Blockchain Ecology-RepChain on May 25 during Big Data Expo 2019, Whitfield Diffie, Winner of the Turing Award, delivered an impromptu speech in his debut at Big Data Expo, sharing his understanding of blockchain.

Diffie, "For me, blockchain is a very innovative and exciting technology. It has two key functional factors: one is eliminating physical medium, the other is replacing centralized computing with distributed behavior with full participation in the community. This is a very important evolution. Especially in the big data and information area, the data can be recorded in a system capable of tracking and depositing. Hopefully, it will make greater contributions to the society.

In his speech, Diffie also shared his interesting experience of working with his partners in cryptography and blockchain research.

Bailey Whitfield Diffie, Chief Security Officer of Cryptic Labs, Member of the National Academy of Engineering and Foreign Member of the Royal Society, is known as "Father of Modern Cryptography" and "Founder of World Network Security". As a world-renowned cryptographic and security expert, he won the Turing Award recognized as the "Nobel Prize of Computing" in 2015. Diffie-Hellman, the world's first key exchange mechanism created by Diffie and his partner set a precedent in key encryption algorithms and the digital signature mechanism. Now it is protecting information communication between numberless internet users and financial transactions worth trillions of dollars every day.
