"The initiative has so far won active responses from more than 100 countries and international organizations," He Lifeng, chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, said during the Thematic Session on Connectivity of Development Policies and Strategies during the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing on May 14.

"China has signed more than 50 inter-governmental cooperation agreements under the Belt and Road Initiative framework," He said.

"Cooperation is the correct option to deal with the challenges arising from economic globalization in the 21st century. The Belt and Road Initiative is China's solution to the problems," He said.

The initiative has integrated with some regional and national development plans and strategies of countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.

He said China will pay more attention to strengthening policy exchanges at four aspects: development strategy integration, development planning integration, mechanism platform integration, and project integration.
