China National Petroleum Corporation announced on May 19 that the China-Myanmar crude oil pipeline's China section, through Ruili, Southwest China's Yunnan province, came into China that day.

The crude oil flows at a speed of 50 km per day and for about 650 km before finally reaching the Sinopec Corporation's refinery factory in Anning City, Yunnan Province.

As a part of China-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline project, a cooperation project of the Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Myanmar crude oil pipeline first came into operation in April.

After the section in China was launched, the total operating length of the pipeline has reached 1,420 km. It is believed the project will bring Myanmar substantial economic and social benefits, and effectively boost the economic development of Southwest China.
