Experts call for win-win cooperation
Experts call for cooperation among different countries under the Belt and Road Initiative to achieve common development and prosperity at the 2017 Silk Road International Association (SRIA) Inaugural Meeting and First Summit held in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, between June 17 and 18.
He Yafei, former Chinese vice-minister of foreign affairs, said the initiative representsa new mode of innovating global governance and international cooperation. The Chinese concept of buildinga human community of shared destiny is conducive to establishing a new order of international relations.
Participating countries of the Belt and Road Initiative need to strengthen policy coordination for integrated development, he said at a sub-forum of the event.
Han Seung-soo, former Prime Minister of South Korea, said the Silk Road, while generating new jobs and revenue, carried not only merchandize but also knowledge, thoughts, culture and religious exchanges.
Jenny Shipley, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, said it would connect the so-called isolated places and help them to take part in the process. Relevant projects could improve people's livelihood and help achieve sustainable stable growth in a peaceful environment.
The event was jointly hosted by the International Finance Forum, Silk Road International Association and China News Service.
