A freight train loaded with industrial products left Baise, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Wednesday for Laos' Vientiane, marking the Guangxi's second international freight train that runs via the China-Laos Railway.

Compared with sea shipping and other traditional methods, the freight train can shorten the transportation time to nearly 5 days, which helps save overall logistics cost by 10 percent, said Wei Jilan, general manager of a logistics company, a participant in the cross-border transportation.

The opening and operation of China-Laos Railway has created a convenient and efficient transportation condition for Baise's exports to enter the Laotian market, said Zhang Youhua, a director of China Railway Nanning Group Co., Ltd.

It is expected that in the future, 1300 tonnes of polyferric sulfate will depart Baise for Laos' Vientiane via the China-Laos Railway every month.
