Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) on Monday jointly published a study on Belt and Road Initiative, intending to help German businesses benefit from the initiative.

"China's Belt and Road Initiative has triggered the impulse for modernization in the areas far beyond Asia," Volker Treier, deputy CEO of DIHK, told the press.

The initiative has great importance to the whole Germany, he added.

According to the study, the initiative creates a huge economic zone between Asia and Europe, and is an important driving force for globalization. German businesses should not hesitate to seize the chances to grow with it.

Treier suggested German businesses to focus more on connectivity to the new joint market created by the initiative in a medium to long term. And he said, thanks to this concept, the central Asian countries come into consideration of western investors.

GTAI CEO Jurgen Friedrich said there are plenty of cooperation opportunities between German and Chinese companies along the new silk road, especially for those in sectors of infrastructure, energy and consulting, etc.

He pointed out that the rules and regulations of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), a major financing institution for the Belt and Road Initiative, are "transparent and fair", which serves great help and guide for German companies that are interested in the projects.
