Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region recently rolled out a plan for promoting the construction on the Belt and Road (B&R) and open economic experimental zone in the region.

As a major step that demonstrates Ningxia’s resolution to further open up, the region will  pilot innovations and reforms in the development of comprehensive bonded area and national economic development zone.

The plan points out that Ningxia will step up construction of transport channels linking to the outside world. Specifically, the region will build the international airport in Yinchuan, capital city of the region, apply for the establishmen of a railway port in Yinchuan, and carry out the online Silk Road Ningxia hub project.

Meanwhile, Ningxia will strive to construct a platform for economic and trade cooperation, promote the joint construction of the B&R international industrial park between the economic development zones in Yinchuan and Beijing, as well as to optimize the policy environment for attracting foreign investment in the region.

The region will push forward the assessment of construction on the  B&R and pilot zone, to ensure the orderly implementation of works to promote the construction of B&R and inland open economy pilot zone.
