Cooperation principles of BRI: high standards, sustainability, and better lives

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) bolsters "soft connectivity" through harmonized rules and standards, introduces rules and standards widely supported by all parties, advocates for aligning with international rules and standards, and encourages developing countries to adopt rules and standards that suit their own conditions and follow a development path that is in line with their national conditions.

The BRI takes a people-centered development approach, with the focus on poverty eradication, job creation, and improvement of people's well-being to ensure that the benefits reach all individuals and enhance the people's sense of gain and fulfillment.

The BRI actively aligns with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, follows the path of coordinated economic, social, and environmental development, and at the same time, follows international practices and debt sustainability principles to ensure commercial and fiscal sustainability.
