Shanghai International Film Festival's Belt and Road Film Week

Established in June 2018, the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance was included in the List of Multilateral Cooperation Deliverables of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2023. To date, the alliance has grown into a network of 57 members from 50 countries. Each June, during the Shanghai International Film Festival, the alliance presents the Belt and Road Film Week, an important platform for cinematic exchange and cultural dialogue. Through initiatives such as the Belt and Road Film Tour and the SIFF International Express, the alliance has developed a two-way exchange platform that promotes both the international outreach of Chinese films and the introduction of outstanding works from Belt and Road partner countries to Chinese audiences. The Belt and Road Film Week 2025, themed "Travel with Films", showcased a curated selection of 15 films from Belt and Road partner countries and attracted an audience of over 11,000 admissions.
