Key fields of BRI: policy coordination
Policy coordination underpins Belt and Road cooperation.
China has worked with Belt and Road partner countries and international organizations to establish a multilevel policy coordination and communication mechanism for aligning development strategies, technological and economic policies, and administration rules and standards. Under this mechanism, plans and measures for regional cooperation have been formulated through joint efforts to facilitate and speed up cooperation.
Multilevel channels for regular communication among different parties have been opened up on different platforms. This has been made possible through top-down driven diplomatic efforts led by heads of state, with support from intergovernmental strategic communication and local and interdepartmental policy coordination, and with cooperation projects carried out by enterprises and social organizations.
China has established multilevel intergovernmental macroeconomic policy communication and exchange mechanism for fully communicating and aligning economic development strategies and countermeasures. Plans and measures for regional cooperation have been formulated through joint efforts to negotiate and resolve issues in cooperation, and provide policy support for practical cooperation and implementation of large-scale projects.
China respects the laws and regulations of countries across the world, and has deepened cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries to align rules and standards. Mutual recognition of standards and exchanges of standard information have been strengthened to support Belt and Road partner countries to develop their standardization capabilities.
