Through joint protection and governance, the Yuandang Lake, on the border of Shanghai and Jiangsu Province in east China, has now become a tourist attraction in the Yangtze River Delta demonstration area. Collaborative efforts have not only drastically improved water quality of the lake but also revitalized local ecosystems, since the establishment of the Yangtze River Delta Eco-Green Integration Demonstration Zone in 2019. Ultimately, this seamless regional connectivity proves that "green is the new gold," successfully turning ecological preservation into a magnet for new investments and talent.
