Delegation of China-Latin America and Caribbean Press Exchange Center visits State Grid UHV DC Test Base
On September 6, the China Public Diplomacy Association organized 19 Latin American journalists from the China-Latin America and the Caribbean Press Center (CLACPC) to visit State Grid Corporation of China (State Grid). The delegation visited State Grid UHV DC Test Base and had a meeting with State Grid. Liu Biwei, Vice President of the China Public Diplomacy Association, attended the event and delivered a speech.
Liu Biwei said that State Grid is the “pioneer” in energy and power sector in China. It operates the largest power grid at the highest voltage level, maintains the longest safe operation record and integrates the largest amount of clean energy in the world. It obtained a number of intellectual property of cutting-edge original findings in the fields of UHV, large power grid operation and control, and novel DC transmission. He hoped that the delegation could have an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the development of China’s power sector and State Grid through this activity, truthfully disseminate the information to their countries, so as to strengthen their friendship and cooperation with China.
During the meeting, State Grid Department of International Cooperation introduced the company’s profile and its international business, in particular, the investment, cooperation and in-depth business cooperation in the field of energy and power in Latin America based on the principles of “extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits” and mutual beneficial win-win cooperation. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on facilitating green and low-carbon energy transformation and the Belt and Road construction. Afterwards, the delegation visited the exhibition hall, test hall and outdoor test field of the UHV DC Test Base, speaking highly of State Grid’s achievements in innovation and development.
Focusing on the invesment and operation of major overseas projects, State Grid serves the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, promoting international energy and power cooperation. It fulfills corporate social responsibilities overseas and actively integrates into local economic and social development. They significantly improve Brazil’s capabilities of allocating clean energy and foster social-economic development, serving as role models of international energy and power cooperation.
