Key fields of BRI: cooperation in new areas

Leveraging their respective strengths, participating countries have continued to expand Belt and Road cooperation into new fields and created innovative cooperation models, broadening the space for international cooperation in the development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

In terms of promoting green development, China has deepened the construction of the Green Silk Road, continuously strengthened practical cooperation in green infrastructure, green energy, green transportation, green finance, and other fields, promoted information sharing and capacity building for green low-carbon development, and deepened cooperation in ecological environment and climate governance.

In terms of cooperation in scientific and technological innovation, China has continued to implement the Action Plan on Belt and Road Cooperation in Scientific and Technological Innovation, strengthened international cooperation in intellectual property protection, promoted the healthy, orderly, and secure development of global artificial intelligence, and created an open, fair, just, and non-discriminatory environment for technological development.

China has accelerated the cultivation of new forms and models of cooperation in the digital field. China has deepened practical cooperation with Belt and Road partner countries in the fields of smart cities, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, etc., accelerated the construction of digital hubs with interconnected facilities and data exchange, and created a pilot zone for cooperation in Silk Road E-commerce.

In terms of promoting the building of a global community of health for all, China has enhanced cooperation in public health security, promoted joint prevention and control of infectious diseases, fostered cooperation and exchanges in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and carried out cooperation in health personnel training.
