Houston students bring traditional Chinese art to stage
An art show of traditional Chinese culture was presented Sunday night by dozens of students in Houston, the fourth largest city of the United States.
The show, Oriental Impression 2019, featured traditional Chinese dancing, singing and instrument playing, among others. Almost all the performers are students of the Oriental Arts Education Center (OAEC), an art school in Houston.
The performances presented by students from kindergarten to high school were rewarded with great cheering from their teachers and parents as well as local Chinese and American audiences. At the show, scholarships were also given out to award students with passion of art.
Xu Li, director and dancer of the OAEC, gave special thanks to the parents, saying students could not make achievements without the dedication of their parents.
Founded in 2010, the OAEC aims to promote Chinese culture and enhance cultural exchanges between China and the United States.
