China becomes Ghana's biggest inbound source of visitors
China has become Ghana's biggest source of inbound visitors, a senior Ghanaian immigration officer said Wednesday.
At an event to mark International Migrants Day, Edith Penelope Arhin, an airport regional commander of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), told Xinhua that the GIS has begun to train officers to communicate with the growing numbers of Chinese visitors in the Chinese language.
Immigration authorities unveiled the event's advertising backdrops which portrayed various uniforms worn by GIS officials, with explanations in Chinese, Spanish, English, and French.
Chen Mingjin, chief of the consular section of the Chinese embassy in Ghana, lauded the development of economic relations between China and Ghana.
"Economic relations between China and Ghana have been improving," Chen said, adding, "I'm glad to observe the improvements in the immigration service."
