The annual China International Industry Fair (CIIF) will be staged for five days starting on Sept 15 in Shanghai, and the event will continue to showcase the latest developments and achievements of Chinese manufacturing in the global value chain, said officials on Tuesday.
"While many well-known international exhibitions have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the upcoming CIIF is going to be a benchmark event of global industrial exhibition, which demonstrates China's commitment to opening-up and its efforts in promoting the recovery of the global economy," said Shi Hongyan, an official with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Themed "Intelligence & Interconnection Empowering New Industrial Development", this year's CIIF will take up an area of 245,000 square meters.
"More than 2,000 exhibitors will showcase their latest technologies, products and services in nine exhibition areas of the fair," said Rong Zhiqin, vice-chairman of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization.
According to Rong, this year's CIIF will for the first time be available online and offline.
