Chinese construction and engineering company China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) has played a leading role in Pakistan's energy infrastructure development, and Pakistan looks forward to deepening cooperation in investment in more fields, said the Pakistani Ambassador to China on Tuesday.
Ambassador Moin ul Haque and CGGC Chairman Chen Xiaohua exchanged views on CGGC’s longstanding relationship and wide-ranging cooperation with Pakistan during a meeting at the company’s headquarters in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei Province.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, CGGC has been committed to completing energy projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor in Pakistan on time, said Chen, noting that CGGC is interested in exploring more opportunities for investment in Pakistan.
Haque appreciated CGGC’s leading role in the development of Pakistan’s energy infrastructure and reassured it of the Embassy’s full support for further cooperation.
The Ambassador invited CGGC to invest in the agriculture, environmental protection, clean drinking water, solid waste management, housing and tourism sectors of Pakistan.
Both sides vowed to maintain close coordination in celebrating the 70th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties.
CGCC is one of the leading energy and construction enterprises involved in energy projects such as the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project, Suki Kinari Hydropower Project, Jhampir Wind Project, Karot Hydropower Project and Basha Hydropower Project in Pakistan.
