Sister city expo deepens Xi'an's intl exchanges

The Xi'an sister city exposition set up at the international pavilion of the just-finished Sixth Silk Road International Exposition held in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Aug 14-18 attracted a lot of attention.

"I am very grateful to the city of Xi'an. It has given me a lot of things. I want to do my best to give back," said Wu Jie (Chinese name), who was working at the booth of Antwerp, Belgium at the Xi'an sister city exposition.

Wu is from Antwerp, Belgium. He has lived in Xi'an for more than 10 years. "I am very interested in the history and culture of Xi'an," he said.

As a worker at the Belgian booth, his task was to introduce his hometown. Wu said that Xi'an is an inclusive city with diverse cultures and a rich history.

He hopes that Xi'an and Antwerp can deepen cooperation in architecture, culture, urban governance and more, strengthen exchanges, and promote the common prosperity of the two cities.

Jiang Fei (Chinese name), who was working at the booth of Pompeii, Italy, has been living in Xi'an for 14 years and runs an Italian restaurant with two Italian friends.

"I like the food in Xi'an and the bold and enthusiastic character of Xi'an people," Jiang said.

At the expo, Jiang not only introduced the culture, history, and cultural relics of Pompeii, Italy, but also made pizzas to give visitors a taste of Italian food.
