In recent years, South Korea has been ranked many times as Shaanxi's largest trading partner and largest source of foreign investment, underscoring the fact that commerce and trade between Shaanxi and South Korea are ever-expanding and becoming increasingly close.
By the end of 2021, South Korea had established a total of 376 enterprises in Shaanxi and the actual use of South Korean capital was nearly $16 billion, accounting for about one-fifth of the province's foreign capital used.
In 2021, the value of imports and exports between Shaanxi and South Korea came in at 101.35 billion yuan ($14.99 billion), an increase of 12.2 percent on the previous year.
From January to July this year, trade between the two reached 56.2 billion yuan, accounting for 20.2 percent of the total imports and exports of the province.
With the increasingly close exchanges between Shaanxi and South Korea, plans are for the two sides to expand cooperation in the fields of the arts, sports, leisure and entertainment, as well as in science and technology.
