KASHGAR, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday donated a batch of relief supplies worth 1 million yuan (143,600 USD) to Pakistan.
The donation was made in response to a request from Pakistani officials for assistance in disaster relief.
The supplies will be delivered to Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region, where torrential rains and subsequent floods have recently claimed lives and caused major infrastructure damage and property losses.
The donated supplies, all produced by local enterprises in Xinjiang's Kashgar, include quilts, cotton-padded coats and tents.
