S.China's Guangxi vows to deepen TCM cooperation with ASEAN countries

South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will deepen cooperation with the ASEAN countries in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and promote the integration of TCM into the Belt and Road Initiative, said the Administration of TCM in Guangxi on Monday.
The cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the traditional medicine field are with ample prospect.
With ASEAN as its major focus, Guangxi has formed a pattern of opening up and cooperating with more than 40 countries and regions in the world in TCM sector.
According to the 14th five-year plan for TCM development (2021-2025) released by the relevant authorities in Guangxi, the region will promote the establishment of the Guangxi-ASEAN TCM Research and Development (R&D) Center, jointly build a laboratory with ASEAN countries, and establish a national medicinal plant germplasm resource bank, collecting and preserving 2,000 medicinal plant species with ASEAN.
