Cultural and creative industries fuel B&R cultural exchange
Cultural and creative products have been an important bridge to strengthen cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes in education, economy and trade.
Statistics show that in 2015, the added value of Gansu's cultural industry reached 15.7 billion yuan, accounting for 2.31% of the province's GDP.
Gansu Provincial Museum has developed a variety of cultural and creative products centering on Dunhuang cultural elements, including bookmarks, scarves, mobile phone shells and pillows.
Li Chunhui, marketing director of Gansu-based Dunhuang Joy Celebration Culture And Investment Co., Ltd., said that Dunhuang Celebration is China's first live show set in desert which reproduces the prosperity of the ancient city on the ancient Silk Road. With the use of modern technology, its rich cultural connotations would attract much attention.
Statistics show that by the end of 2016, the show had been performed more than 370 times to over 330,000 Chinese and foreign people and directly provides more than 1,000 jobs for the local people.
Yimei Folk Cultural Art Co., Ltd, a company in Dingxi City, also engaged itself in telling Silk Road stories through cultural and creative products. The company uses paper-cutting and embroidery to spread unique Chinese culture and folk customs.
Jing Aiqin, head of the company, said that the company's cultural and creative products had attracted a growing number of Chinese and foreign customers.
