The Third Working Group Video Conference on China-Egypt Industrial Capacity Cooperation Mechanisms was held in Beijing and Cairo simultaneously from July 18 to 19.

Delegates of relevant government departments and enterprises held constructive and practical dialogues in the conference on financing, policy and technological standards regarding projects in energy, transport, housing, trade and economic cooperation zones.

China-Egypt industrial capacity cooperation has been underway for more than three years. The working group visited Egypt in June 2015 and made a list of the 15 most important projects for bilateral cooperation.

President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi visited China in September 2015 and signed a bilateral industrial capacity cooperation framework agreement. The China-Egypt Teda Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and the 500 kilovolt electric transmission line in Egypt have become brand projects in the bilateral cooperation.

China Development Bank and The Export-Import Bank of China signed financing and loan agreements with Egyptian partners to support the port, electricity and industrial park projects in Egypt.
