GUANGZHOU, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Italian expat Davide Romor works as a senior project manager with a Chinese toy company located in Dongguan, south China's Guangdong Province.

Fascinated by automobiles and giant pandas, Davide Romor has co-developed with his colleagues a series of armor-wearing giant panda toys.

The panda-shaped handicraft is called Pangda, which means "chubby little one" in Chinese.

Romor studied industrial manufacturing in the Italian city of Milan and worked for several toy and automobile companies in Italy.

During his travel to Guangdong years ago, Romor was impressed by the high-quality products from local factories. He decided to stay and make something he is interested in.

Romor is not the only foreigner who has come to work in Dongguan, which is dubbed the "factory of the world."

Sum Liu, founder of the toy factory that Romor works with, said that international colleagues have brought new ideas into design and production, as well as in working style.
