Hohhot sees steady operation of China-Europe freight train service

Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has run a total of 6 China-Europe freight trains since the service was launched in the end of last year, marking normalized and stable operation of the city's China-Europe freight train service, reported local newspaper citing data from Hohhot Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

Currently, shipped goods of Hohhot China-Europe freight train mainly comes from Bayannur City, and the categories are mainly sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hardware, and daily necessities. As of the end of May, a total of 448 TEUs of goods valuing 8.35 million U.S. dollars was transported.

The city has seen its foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce grow steadily in recent years. The coverage of Hohhot's international express mail business has gradually expanded. With the aim of building an opening-up highland, the city takes Shaliang railway modern logistics park as starting point and launched the cargo train service.

In order to improve the quality and efficiency of China-Europe freight trainservice, in the second half of this year, Hohhot plans to launch a customized Poland-bounded cargo train, which will further optimize the export structure of Hohhot.
