NW.China's Xinjiang Alashankou Port handles 4,005 China-Europe freight trains since this year

A China-Europe freight train loaded with sawed timber arrived at Alashankou Port in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Saturday, marking the 4,005th freight train handled by the port since this year, Chinanews.com reported.

With the continuous optimization of customs clearance procedure and freight train transportation efficiency, Alashankou port has achieved a daily handling average of 17 Chine-Europe freight trains since the beginning of this year, registering the highest daily record of handling 24 such trains.

According to Urumqi railway authority, Alashankou port has added 22 freight train routes since the beginning of this year, bringing the total freight train routes at the port to 87.

By now, the China-Europe freight train routes via the Alashankou Port connect 18 countries and regions, including Germany, Poland and Belgium, transporting 200 kinds of goods such as auto parts and home appliances, further providing logistics support for deepening China's international cooperation.
