More than 280 Fortune 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises have confirmed their participation in the fifth China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10, with nearly 90 percent of them repeat participants of the CIIE, reported Shanghai Securities News Monday quoting the China International Import Expo Bureau.

The world's top four grain dealers, top three seed companies, top ten medical device companies, and top ten pharmaceutical companies will all participate in the event, according to the bureau.

French cosmetics giant L'Oreal, a participant of the past four sessions of CIIE, will present five new exhibits in five exhibition areas at this year's event.

Panasonic, also a repeat participator of the CIIE, will showcase environment-related products and solutions, including pure hydrogen fuel cells, new energy vehicle batteries and components in its 1,000-square-meter exhibition area in the consumer goods exhibition area of the fifth CIIE.

The CIIE has attracted more and more participants with its growing influence over the years. On September 16, 40 enterprises and institutions, including L'Oreal, Panasonic, Bayer and the German Chambers of Commerce Worldwide Network (AHK), have signed for the sixth CIIE with the China International Import Expo Bureau, showing their confidence in the Chinese market.
