China's auto exports up 73.9 pct year on year in September

China's automobile exports surged 73.9 percent year on year to 301,000 units in September, the latest industry data showed.

Exports of passenger cars increased 85.6 percent year on year to 250,000 units last month, while that of commercial cars rose 32.6 percent to 51,000 units, according to data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Tuesday. 

In addition, Chinese car firms exported about 50,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in September, more than doubling over the same period of last year, CAAM data showed.

In the first nine months of this year, about 2.12 million cars were exported, up 55.5 percent year on year.
