Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, a Chinese firm engaging in shipbuilding and marine engineering manufacturing, has signed a contract with a European buyer to build two 175,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers for it, reported Shanghai Securities News Wednesday quoting the firm.

This is first order of the group to build large LNG ships, and it makes the group the fourth ship enterprise in China and also the first private one to enter the construction market for large LNG ships, according to the company.

It says that the two carriers will be built at Jiangsu Yangzi Xinfu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the group, and are scheduled to be delivered in 2025-2026.
