Undertaken by China Road & Bridge Corporation(CRBC), Cambodia's NO. 31 and No. 33 highway upgrading projects started construction recently, reported People.cn.

The No. 31 and No. 33 highways are located in southwest Cambodia, connecting Takeo, Kampot and other provinces and cities, and are important roads connecting the capital Phnom Penh and Vietnam ports along the routes.

Both projects are financed by the Export-Import Bank of China, which are expected to be completed in 2026.

Zhou Yong, general manager of CRBC Cambodia Office, said that the upgrading and reconstruction of No. 31 and No. 33 highways will further improve the construction of Cambodia's highway network, and are of great significance for promoting the rapid economic development of provinces along the routes, improving the tourist traffic conditions in the southwest coastal areas as well as living standards of local people.
