Chinese car carrier company launches customized China-Mediterranean shipping route

Loaded with 3,968 new cars made in China, a liner owned by Guangzhou Yuanhai Car Carrier Transportation Co., Ltd. departed from east China's Shanghai on January 27, heading for the Port of Derince in Türkiye and the Port of Livorno in Italy, reported Shanghai Securities News Sunday.

The continuous growth of automobile exports has become a highlight at the beginning of 2023. In addition to launching of the China-Persian Gulf liner route and having two new car carriers running on the China-Mexico route, Guangzhou Yuanhai Car Carrier Transportation Co., Ltd. also provides customized special liner services according to customer needs, introduced Zhu Guihua, general manager of the company, adding that the China-Mediterranean route is a customized one.

Chinese car brands are going global at a faster speed. According to the latest data of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China's automobile exports exceeded 3 million units in 2022, rising by 54.4 percent year on year.

It is learned that in 2022, Guangzhou Yuanhai Car Carrier Transportation Co., Ltd. has shipped 19,819 cars exported by customers like SAIC, FAW, Chery and BYD to South America, Europe, the Persian Gulf and Mexico.

The company forecasts that it may ship 100,000 cars for export in 2023, a four-fold increase from 2022.
