Hebei Steel Group acquired the Smederevo Steel Plant in April last year. The Serbian steel plant started making a profit eight months later, ending sevenyears of loss. The workers' wages have also increased accordingly.

The foundation stone laying ceremony of a lighting equipment manufacturing project invested by Hongbo Clean Energy Europe in Województwoopolskie, in the south of Poland, was staged on March 20. The Hongbo Group from east China's Fujian Province has invested US$100 million in the infrastructure construction project.

LiugongDressta created more than 1,200 jobs for locals, and contributes a total of 450 million yuan in tax revenue for the local government. According to the Chinese embassy in Poland, Chinese enterprises have provided 15,000 jobs in Poland, among which more than 80 percent are taken by the locals.
