China Southern Airlines, one of the leading Chinese airlines, launched an air route running between Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province and the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok to meet recent robust domestic demand of traveling to Thailand, according to information released by the company.

The new route operates one round-trip flight each day, and will add one more such flight on Fridays and Saturdays starting from April 28.

A China Southern Airlines CZ8085 flight, the first flight on the new route, took off from Guangzhou on Monday, with passenger load factor reaching 100 percent. Passengers on this flight were tourist groups and individual tourists planning trips with families and friends to Thailand, according to the airline.

As outbound travel heats up, China Southern Airlines is gradually resuming air service to Southeast Asia. It reopened flights between Guangzhou and Manila on Monday, and plans to resume routes to Malaysia's Sabah, Thailand's Chiang Mai, Indonesia's Bali Island, Vietnam's Nha Trang, and Cambodia's Siem Reap.
