Gansu's trade with B&R countries hikes 41 pct y-o-y in H1

Northwest China's Gansu Province maintained fast growing momentum in trade with countries along the Belt and Road routes in the first half of 2018. Its import and export value hiked 41 percent on year to reach 8.34 billion yuan (1.23 billion U.S. dollars) during the period, according to Gansu customs.

Specifically, Gansu's exports to countries along the Belt and Road routes soared 86.8 percent on year to 2.12 billion yuan, and its imports from theses countries up 30.1 percent on year to 6.22 billion yuan.

Gansu is benefiting from the four newly-built Belt and Road trade passes which connects Gansu with Germany and some Asian countries, such as India and Singapore. The train connecting Gansu and Hamburg hauled freight worth 85 million U.S. dollars in the first half, up 25.8 percent y-o-y. (Edited by Yang Bize)
