High-Level Officials of AUC and UNECA attended the 2nd BRF

High-Level Officials of African Union Commission (AUC) and United Nations Economic Commissions (UNECA) for Africa attended the 2nd Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation from 25-27 April in Beijing, China.

Framework of Action Plan between National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the People's Republic of China and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) on Cooperation within the Framework of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative was signed on 25 April and included in the List of Deliverables of the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Ms. Amani Abou Zeid, AUC Commissioner of Infrastructure and Energy and Mr. Raila Odinga, High Representative of the Chairperson for Infrastructure Development in Africa and Ms. Vera Songwe, Executive Secretary of UNECA attended and spoke on the thematic forums on infrastructure connectivity, policy connectivity and digital silk road, respectively. What's more, they all were invited to attend the opening ceremony, High-level meeting and Gala dinner on 26 April.

The officials from Bureau of Chairperson, Department of Infrastructure and Energy, Department of Trade and Industry of African Union Commission attended 6 thematic forums on policy connectivity, infrastructure connectivity, Trade Connectivity, Financial Connectivity, Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone Promotion and digital silk road, respectively on 25 April.

During 2nd BRF, the officials from AUC paid visits to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and NDRC and had working meetings.
