China, Arab states expo to focus on agriculture
The China-Arab States Expo, to be held in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, will attach great importance to the development of agriculture, a regional agricultural official said.
Yang Minghong, deputy director of Ningxia's agricultural and rural affairs department, told a press conference on Tuesday that a modern agriculture exhibition and an agricultural cooperation dialogue will become important parts of the event.
The expo will further strengthen agricultural cooperation between China and Arab states, Yang said.
The expo, the fourth edition, will open in Yinchuan, capital of Ningxia, from Sep. 5 to 8.
The modern agriculture exhibition will feature diverse subjects including rural revitalization, high-quality agricultural products, red wine, new technologies and desertification control.
The cooperation dialogue event aims to enhance cooperation between the inland region and Arab states, and other countries along the Belt and Road, as well as developed countries. Representatives from agricultural management institutions, academics and enterprises of Arab states and Belt and Road countries will hold discussions with Chinese attendees on agriculture-related topics.
Ningxia also hopes to ink deals with more countries to promote its agricultural products and expand its market, Yang said.
