China's Jilin posts robust foreign trade growth for Jan.-July
Northeast China's Jilin Province saw its foreign trade grow 34 percent year on year to reach 94.6 billion yuan (about 14.6 billion U.S. dollars) in the first seven months of 2021, local customs authorities said.
The growth rate was 9.5 percentage points higher than the national average in the January-July period, according to Changchun Customs in the provincial capital of Changchun.
The province has registered foreign trade growth for eight consecutive months, Changchun Customs said.
In July, Jilin's foreign trade soared 56.4 percent year on year to 15.4 billion yuan. Imports climbed 66.9 percent to 12.7 billion yuan, while exports reached 2.8 billion yuan, an increase of 21.8 percent over the same period of last year.
Bordering Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Jilin has in recent years been developing sectors such as cross-border e-commerce, winter tourism and healthcare to better integrate into and promote regional development.
