Foreigners experience Chinese culture in Tongliang, SW. China's Chongqing

A group of foreign visitors from Russia, the United States and etc. participated in a cultural activity themed on learning Chinese characters in Tongliang District, southwest China's Chongqing upon the Lantern Festival.

The event includes activities such as writing Chinese calligraphy, learning Tongliang Dragon Dance and etc.

As a traditional festival custom during the Lantern Festival, guessing lantern riddles is specially fascinating for foreigners living in China. The activity of guessing lantern riddles this time required players using the spelling method of the Chinese characters they have just learned, which will help consolidate their study.

"This is my second visit to Tongliang, and I have always been fascinated by Chinese culture," said Ben, a star on Douyin from the United States. He brought his son to experience Chinese traditional culture during the Chinese New Year period this time.

Eating Yuanxiao on Lantern Festival means reunion. During the activity, foreign visitors experienced the production process of Yuanxiao.

Meanwhile, they also participated in the dragon dance under guidance.  

"Tongliang has a good ecological environment and a unique culture, which gives us a great impression," said a girl from Russia, adding that it is very interesting to experience the Lantern Festival by experiencing traditional Chinese culture.
