VIENTIANE, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese company CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC), which produced the Lane Xang EMU trains for China-Laos Railway, organized a cultural exchange event on Monday at a school in Lao capital Vientiane, themed "Discovering the World by Train."

The event was held in Chomphet lower secondary school with representatives of Chinese and Lao officials and media as well as Lao students attending the event.

Participants enjoyed the art performances of Lao students and Chinese dancers.

In addition, an artificial turf football field and education equipment provided by CRRC were handed over to Chomphet school.

Speaking at the event, Vilayvanh Bounsoukthai, head of the Department of Mass Sports, Physical and Arts under the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, expressed his appreciation to CRRC for supporting the construction of the football field for the school.

This is the first football field that CRRC built and handed over to schools in foreign countries.

"The CRRC not only brings material help to our students, but also spiritual encouragement. On behalf of all teachers and students, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the Chinese government and CRRC's support to Laos," said Sonesavanh Duangnouphone, principal of Chomphet school.

Wang An, a senior member of the management board of the CRRC, said connecting the world and creating benefits for mankind is the mission of his company.

"The CRRC has helped contribute to the rehabilitation and development of rural areas, local education, medicine and public health for China and the world. And this event is aimed at increasing strategic and cultural cooperation with Laos," he said.
