On September 19th, at the Beicuo police station, on the 18th day after submitting the application, Chen Mengbang, the Taiwan compatriot in Pingtan, received the long-awaited residence permit for Taiwan residents. This is also the first batch of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residence permits issued in Pingtan. TAIWAN COMPATRIOTS: WE ARE THE SAME NOW

At 9 o'clock on the morning of the 19th, Chen Mengbang, the general manager of Zongren Technology (Pingtan) Co., Ltd., successfully obtained the residence permit for Taiwan residents after the presentation of documents and fingerprint check, and became the first Taiwan compatriot to receive the residence permit at Beicuo Police Station.

In the past, when doing business we could only use the travel passes for Taiwan residents to enter or leave the mainland, which means many inconveniences for Chen Mengbang. For daily business, I had to take my ticket at the ticket office in advance, and the hotel could only be foreign-related. Now with this residence permit, this is not a problem. "Now I am the same as you, there is no difference." Chen Mengbang said.

18 HANDLING OFFICES LAUNCHED IN PINGTAN

The document processing period is no more than 20 working days, and the validity period of the documents is five years.

Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents

VS Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents

1. The residence permit is an identity document for Taiwan compatriots studying, working and living in the mainland. It cannot be used for entering or leaving the mainland. The Taiwan Compatriot Certificate (Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents) is the only document used for entering and exiting the mainland;

2. The “Residence Permit for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Residents Application and Issuance Measures” clearly stipulates that when compatriots of Taiwan are required to prove their identity in the relevant activities in the mainland, they have the right to prove their identity by means of a residence permit. The relevant mainland units and their staff members may not refuse, and refusal is violation of the law.

3. With the rapid development of electronic and network technologies, there are more and more self-service projects in various fields in the mainland relying on relevant technologies. The Taiwan compatriot certificates cannot be recognized by all social public service system terminals like ID cards, thus giving Taiwan compatriots Brought a lot of inconvenience;

4. The formulation of the residence permit for Taiwan residents is to meet the needs of Taiwan compatriots to study, work and live in the mainland;

5. It is entirely a technical reason to issue a new document instead of upgrading the number of original Taiwanese compatriot certificate digit capacity.

Do we still enjoy the preferential policies for Taiwan compatriots after receiving the residence permit

1. Taiwan compatriots applying for a residence permit for Taiwan residents do not need to have a mainland household register, nor do they need to abandon their Taiwanese household register. Therefore, the relevant rights and obligations enjoyed by Taiwan will not be affected.

2. The preferential policies enjoyed by Taiwan compatriots in the mainland will not change due to the residence permit.
