Nearly 10,000 e-commerce orders processed by Pingtan Overseas Warehouse

From Pingtan Across-Strait Overseas Public Warehouse Co., Ltd., the journalist learned that, since setting up Pingtan Overseas Warehouse in Taipei on October 31 last year, it has made wonderful results in logistics, warehousing and other aspects.  

As the first overseas warehouse in Taiwan from Chinese mainland, Pingtan Overseas Warehouse, since its inception, has been active to dock with cross-border e-commerce businesses and express delivery operators. Till today, it has processed nearly cross-border e-commerce exports worth close to four million RMB. In addition to the booming logistics performance, Pingtan Overseas Warehouse is also having its capacity full, whose goods weigh nearly 900 tons and worth 67 million RMB.

According to Mr. Dai Zhizhong, Chairman of Pingtan Across-Strait Overseas Public Warehouse Co., Ltd., the Central Government and provincial government have released many policies supporting development of cross-border e-commerce. He hopes to use the policies for FTZ Pingtan Section to bring featured products and high-end products from Taiwan to market in the Chinese mainland via Pingtan Port, deepen economy and trade exchanges across Taiwan Strait, establish the international cross-border trade channel for Taiwan and Chinese mainland and share bonus of development.

Recently, the Provincial Taiwan Affairs Office released the Measures to Support New-round of Development and Openness to Taiwan in Pingtai, proposing facilitating the building of the across-strait e-commerce logistics base and expand the logistics channel via Taiwan. As a result, Pingtan Overseas Warehouse has also made corresponding policies and is active to negotiate with relevant companies in container wharf in Taipei Port. It is expected to invest money, plan and build the phase II warehousing space. Besides, it will increase the goods transit and processing service and raise the flow of cross-border trade across Taiwan Strait.

In addition to providing the customs-clearance service for cross-border e-commerce, Pingtan Overseas Warehouse also plans to develop business in agricultural products, use the high-speed maritime shipping to replace air transport, thus saving transport cost and expanding the across-strait trade market.

Dai Zhizhong said, since Pingtan Overseas Warehouse was established, its logistics warehousing has been growing continuously, showing there are great market needs across Taiwan Strait. Pingtan Overseas Warehouse will continue to work hard and make better results for the connectivity and exchanges between Taiwan and Chinese mainland.
