On May 12, with the "Bridge Seagull" crane vessel steadily placing a simple-supported steel truss with a length of 80 meters and a width of 35.5 meters on the pier top, all the non-navigable steel truss beams of the Pingtan Strait Railway and Highway Bridge were erected, which laid a solid foundation for track laying in October 2019.

The Pingtan Strait Bridge is a double-deck bridge with a total length of 16.34 kilometers. It is a cable-stayed bridge with three navigable holes. It is a key control project for the construction of Fuzhou-Pingtan Railway and Changle-Pingtan Expressway.
