2018 Seminar on Pingtan International Tourism Island Held

On August 8, 2018 Seminar on Pingtan International Tourism Island (hereinafter referred to as PITI) was held, attracting nearly 50 experts and scholars and more than 500 distinguished guests on both sides of Taiwan Strait.

With the theme of “Building a Dream of the Sea Together • Opening a New Era”, participants of the seminar focused on the hot issues of tourism development and explored the concept of island tourism development.

At the meeting, Expert think tank for Pingtan International Tourism Island was established, and the first batch of 21 experts was hired. In addition, The Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, the Tourism Development Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, Pingtan Tourism Co., Ltd. signed strategic cooperation agreements with 13 universities and enterprises such as Taiwan Yuda University of Science and Technology and Beijing Quna Information Technology Co., Ltd etc. respectively. The award ceremony of the 2018 China Ocean Tourism Trend Award was also held at the site. The Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone won the 2018 International Most Promising Tourism Destination • Island Atmosphere Award.
