Big Data Unlocks the Smart Era

On May 25, 2016, Big Data Expo 2016 was opened in Guiyang. With the upgrading of big data development to a national strategy, Big Data Expo 2016 has been upgraded to a national event. Hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Commerce, the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission (OCCAC) and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government, organized by eight entities including the Department of High-Tech Industry, NDRC and the Guizhou Provincial Commission of Economic and Information Technology, Big Data Expo 2016, with the annual theme "Big Data Opens an Intelligent Era", pooled the strength of relevant sides to promote the scientific and rapid development of the big data industry. Big Data Expo 2016 included "two concurrent conferences, one exhibition, two costs and other activities".

China Big Data Industry Summit & China E-Commerce Innovation and Development Summit brought together over 20,000 guests, including senior executives of world-renowned enterprises, big data leaders, experts and scholars. 68 forums were held concurrently, including China Smart City Data Security and Industrial Cooperation Summit, Big Data-based Internet Finance Risk Control Innovation Summit, Industrial Internet Innovation and Development, Integrated Development of Cloud Computing and Big Data, Big Data Innovation Ecosystem, Government Governance Innovation in Big Data Era, Data Value and E-commerce Development from a Financial Perspective, "Agricultural Big Data" Dialogue, etc. Big Data Expo 2016 included five sectors: economic and social development, industries and applications, technologies and trends, security and privacy protection, e-commerce. While attracting attention from international giants like Alibaba, SAP, Qihoo 360, Huawei, HPE, Microsoft and Intel, Big Data Expo 2016 drew governments, enterprises and academic institutions from the US, the UK, Germany, India and other countries.

Electronic and Information Maker Contest & "Guizhou Cloud" Big Data Business Model Contest 2016 and Pain-point Seeker 2016 took place during Big Data Expo 2016. Guided by MIIT, "Guizhou Cloud" Big Data Business Model Contest has been upgraded to a national contest. The contest took place in Beijing, Shanghai and Qingdao, covered a wide range of fields such as intelligent manufacturing, big data finance, big data health, big data service, government governance, health, environmental protection, auxiliary production, agriculture, sports, service and communication, received 10,676 entries, attracted over 20,000 participants, and aimed to advance the development of China's "mass innovation & entrepreneurship".
