Note: This column mainly includes countries along the Belt and Road and countries that have signed cooperation agreements with China on Belt and Road Initiative.

In 2013, friendly and cooperative relations between the People's Republic of China and the Union of Comoros continued to grow steadily.

The two countries maintained the momentum of political exchanges. In March, President Ikililou Dhoinine sent a letter of congratulations to Xi Jinping on his election as the Chinese president and chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission. In April, President Ikililou sent a letter of condolences to President Xi Jinping over the earthquake in Lushan, Sichuan. In August, Vice President and Minister of Health, Solidarity, Social Cohesion and Gender Promotion Fouad Mohadji attended the Ministerial Forum of China-Africa Health Development in China and President Xi Jinping met with him. Minister of the Interior, Information, Decentralization Charged with Relations with the Institutions Houssen Hassan Ibrahim attended the Ministerial Seminar on Population and Development in China.

Economic and trade cooperation went smoothly. The project of the Presidential Offices in Anjouan and Moheli islands built with assistance from the Chinese government was completed and three primary schools and mobile solar power source were handed over to Comoros. The two countries signed the exchange of notes on the project of photovoltaic power station. Bilateral technical cooperation projects on radio, television and international airport were carried out in an orderly way.

The two countries kept a good momentum for their cooperation in culture, education and health. China Central Television and China Radio International landed their signals in Comoros. University of Comoros and the Hanban signed an agreement on setting up Confucius Class in Comoros. The Fast Elimination of Malaria by Source Project in Grande Comoros was officially launched. Delegations from the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the Bureau of Management of Traditional Chinese Medicine visited Comoros.
