Policy options on establishing an energy management mechanism relating to B&R Initiative

The cooperation on energy involved in the Belt and Road Initiative carries great significance on guaranteeing China’s energy safety and accelerating the progress of the Initiative. To further the cooperation, the energy management mechanism should be strengthened. We should take advantage of the Belt and Road Initiative International Cooperation Summit and raise the proposal of establishing an energy management mechanism so as to gradually improve and implement the proposal and strengthen the institutional foundation for the Belt and Road energy cooperation.

The Belt and Road energy cooperation program bears great significance. First, the program will contribute to China’s energy safety. Second, it will fuel the development of the countries along the Belt and Road routes. Third, it will strengthen peace and stability of the regions along the routes.
